Just how fast is the Trail’s End Marathon? Check the results: Carolyn Walker set a new Women’s World Record in the inaugural event. The present course record of 2:41:21 was set 12 years later by Gail Volk Kingma, who at the time still held the National High School and World Junior records. Julie Mullin’s three pre-teen records still stand as World Bests. At least 27 females have broken the three hour barrier. On the male side, Clancy Devery set the 2:23:05 American high school record which still stands. The tenth best open time is under 2:20. These performances are the definition of "fast".
